Just thinking back on the year and everything that has happened in the last 12 months, it has been a lot.
Well there is no hiding it was a tough year for everyone, me included. I had to pivot our mortgage and brokering business Best Capital Finance quickly to survive COVID, revisit office space leases, and move from having permanent employees to more casual arrangements with offshoring.
This year I have also found living my healthiest and best version of myself harder. We might have embraced staying and working at home more, but there was certainly less rigour around morning and evening routines!
I’ve desperately needed a reminder of all the good things that have happened over the past 12 months, but looking to my business Best Capital Finance certainly helps me see that despite the challenging year, it is important to recognise our successes and get inspired for 2021.
Since inception, at Best Capital Finance we have:
- Helped over 40x Mum’s, Dad’s Daughter’s, Son’s, Grandchildren secure new or refinanced residential properties
- Helped local home loan customers in the Northern Beaches, with over 60% market share going local
- Helped over 5x business with SME government guaranteed business loans during COVID
- Become one of Sydney’s top commercial finance brokers with refinancing of multiple landmark commercial property buildings in the Sydney CBD.
So there you have it. While it often seemed like one giant bin fire, it hasn’t all been that bad, I am proud to say we have helped many people.
If this year has taught us anything, is that we can’t plan for everything. If someone had said this time last year we would be working from home, cancelling overseas travel and now in potential lockdown for Christmas, we’d have thought they were mad.
I am excited to take some time out, hopefully get away camping with the family, and get some time to rest and recharge. Bring on the holidays.
